AMY BIEHL STAFF UNDERTAKE AN EXTRAORDINARY LEARNING JOURNEY AND ADVENTURE
From the 14th to 16th October 2010, Houw Hoek Inn was home to a productive collaboration between AAHA Learning and The Amy Biehl Foundation. The Learning Adventure, orchestrated by Dr Bruce Copley and his associate, Barbara Kennedy, was an extraordinary foray into rediscovering passions and energy dulled by the frenetic pace of modern living. Twenty Amy Biehl staff and facilitators were engaged, enlightened and inspired by a variety of experiences in different environments, ranging from music making, fire making, walks in nature, profound revelations around communication, conflict resolution and community building. AAHA Learning focuses on delivering customer delight not just service and for this reason, the process is structured around the needs of the delegates rather than a prescribed programme. The strength of this type of process is that it allows the lessons to emerge during and after the experience, and as such they are memorable and applicable in our daily lives. In keeping with AAHA Learning's policy of customer delight, a comprehensive Learning Review as a reminder of the whole program was compiled and sent to every delegate on request.
This 3 day residential learningshop was the first of its kind for the Amy Biehl staff. The wisdom of the Foundation's Managing Director, Kevin Chaplin, in organising this event, is borne out by the feedback received:
"THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for everything. Words are not enough. You were amazing and have made such a huge difference with our team at Houw Hoek and then again with all the facilitators too at the music session on 4 November. I cannot thank you enough." Kevin Chaplin
"We have been talking about you and Barbara all week, here at the office, some listening to the CD... and of course, the buzz word around here now is 'Let it Go'. Change in a positive way is so evident amongst us all." Kay Herman
"Thanks for a wonderful time. I am working hard on my listening skills and gratitude diary and have been in touch with my co-creation partner. It's really been fun." Ilchen Retief
"I was truly inspired by the way you ran this course... As mentioned I attended a course which dealt with the holistic life wheel, but the way in which you presented reached me far deeper. I am ready to take this forward..." Anita Fredricks
